Children in Hong Kong spend over one-third of their day at school, which is not only a place for imparting knowledge but also a crucial space for children to build social relationships, cultivate character, and promote physical and mental well-being. With child abuse cases remaining persistently high, schools are an indispensable component in safeguarding children's safety. To address this, Plan International Hong Kong, with support from the Ng Kik Yee Charitable Foundation, has launched the "Child Protection School" Support and Recognition Program, collaborating with 117 local early childhood education institutions to jointly build safer and more protective learning environments.

Looking for a fun and educational outing with your children during the first weekend of October? Plan International Hong Kong will host the 2nd "Child Protection School" Support and Recognition Program Exhibition from Friday, October 2, to Sunday, October 4, at the L1 Atrium of D·PARK Discovery Park in Tsuen Wan. Admission is free, and through diverse interactive experiences, the public can learn about child protection issues in a relaxed and engaging way, raise awareness of child abuse risks, and understand how to prevent and respond to child abuse situations.

Step into the "Safe School Garden" — Six exciting experiences await your exploration

This year's exhibition adopts a lush garden design concept, inviting the public to enter the exhibition area to gain deeper insights into Plan International's advocacy journey for child protection and to view the fruitful achievements of 36 "Child Protection Quality Schools" in building safe campuses, understanding how children can thrive in a secure environment. The six featured exhibition highlights are as follows:

Child Protection Achievements Exhibition

Learn in-depth about how "Child Protection Quality Schools" continuously enhance campus safety networks and explore Plan International's achievements and experiences in promoting child protection work in Hong Kong over the years.

Find the "Child Protection Seed Stamp"

Search for and collect the hidden "Child Protection Seed Stamps" within the exhibition area, then answer simple questions to participate in a prize game where everyone wins, with chances to receive body painting experience vouchers, limited-edition film cameras from the program, plush toys, and other rich gifts. "Children's Good Voices" Children's Vocal Performance

Children will perform with pure voices on the "Shining Blossom Stage," leading everyone into a carefree musical world.

"Little Pig, Any Problem?" Immersive Picture Book Theater

Animated clowns will guide children into the magical story world of "Little Pig," teaching children how to say "no" when facing danger.

Educational Themed Booth Games

Designed by some "Child Protection Schools," these games allow children to "learn while playing" and easily grasp self-protection tips!

Child Protection Becomes a New Key Factor in School Selection — 117 Kindergartens Share Practical Achievements

According to the latest data from the Social Welfare Department, new registered child abuse cases have exceeded 1,000 annually over the past five years, highlighting the urgency of child safety issues. With the implementation of the "Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse Ordinance" this year, it is expected that some previously hidden or unreported cases will gradually emerge, necessitating further efforts from all sectors of society to strengthen child protection and prevention.

To ensure children grow up in a safer environment, Plan International Hong Kong, with support from the Ng Kik Yee Charitable Foundation, launched the "Child Protection School" Support and Recognition Program, supporting 117 local kindergartens over the past two years to improve child protection measures and campus prevention mechanisms. Through this exhibition, parents can not only learn how participating schools safeguard children's safety through policy formulation, staff training, and campus measures but also understand the importance of the "Child Protection Policy," gaining a more comprehensive understanding of how schools create safe and protected learning environments for children.

The exhibition's opening day (October 2, morning) will feature an award ceremony to recognize participating schools for their efforts in implementing policies. The event will invite Legislative Council members, members of the Committee on Children's Affairs, and school principals to share valuable experiences in building safe campuses. Additionally, celebrity volunteer ambassadors Tong Yi, Suen Wai-suet, and "Super Dad" Ho Kai-yau will be present to share parenting insights and urge the public to collectively prioritize the importance of "Child Protection."
